As an artist and full time mother I find the fall one of the most highly anticipated of all the seasons, primarily because order is restored to the universe. But this year I feel particularily festive, not because I loathe my children, I love them dearly, I enjoy them immensely, they make me laugh till I snort. . . but truth be told, they like school and the structure and adventure it adds to their lives. Plus as an introvert I need this recharge time to, well, recharge.

Farewell, My Friend!

Last night I sold this painting(White Stag):

He’s been hanging around my dining room for the last year. We’ve gotten to know each other. He’s witnessed both the chaos and joy in our home, seen me through the trials and triumphs of a year and calmly surveyed the day to day.

I love this part, where the making makes sense because he was never meant to live in our home forever. He will go on to another home where his presence will be appreciated. I’m so thankful for this process. The preparing, the making, the housing, the rehousing. It is immensely and indescribably rewarding. It is harder than I ever imagined and yet exactly what I am meant to do.

I am coming up on a fairly busy season of painting as I prepare for a couple solo shows (stay tuned!). . . but I love it and know the challenges are the bread and butter of learning/growing/maturing. So I will take it in stride, give myself room to laugh, and take a deep breath as I pour myself into my work. I couldn’t imagine doing any of this without the full backing of my family. They are amazingly supportive and a deep well of inspiration.

I am so grateful.

Yip, Yip!

I’m so pleased to be one of 500 artists represented by UGallery! (Only 10% of those who apply are accepted, kinda cool!) They have a lovely reputation and come highly recommended. UGallery always offers free shipping and a one-week in home trial period, to make sure you are satisfied.  **see note below about changes with my other online shops

You can find “Celestial” and other new work in my UGallery store 🙂

**On a side note: Navigating the waters of online galleries has been a work in progress for me. I’ve spread myself all over trying to find the best fit for both me and my work. In an effort to simplify my life I will be offering my work online only at UGallery and Artfinder. Both places have works that fall into different categories for me, so be sure to check them both out. Unfortunately, I can no longer maintain my Society6, Etsy and Saatchi sites. While I know this will be a bummer, especially for those who’ve enjoyed purchasing prints(and things) of my work from Society6, I am relieved to spend more time painting and less time managing various platforms. If you wish to purchase artwork directly from me or have any questions at all, feel free to contact me here, I’d love to hear from you! Cheers!
