What a privilege and honor to be a part of this unique experience developed by visionary painter, Sarah Brokke. The Duluth Art Institute presents two related exhibitions that celebrate the vital arts community working here, today. Sarah Brokke’s “Portrait of an Artist” will feature 36 gorgeous paintings of local poets, musicians and visual artists that have inspired her, on view in the DAI Morrison Gallery. The adjacent Steffl Gallery will come alive with “(Self)Portrait of an Artist,” showcasing visual art, poetry, live music and interdisciplinary endeavors by those featured in Brokke’s portraits. A full-color book by Holy Cow! Press will be available to purchase for $26.

Sarah Brokke is the Director and Assistant Professor of Art at the College of St. Scholastica; a teaching artist at the Duluth Art Institute; and a painter. The 36 who will animate the galleries:
